Chalk and Sidewalks

Savannah had its annual SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design) Sidewalk Art Festival on Saturday and we got to go for the first time!!  This art was used with sidewalk chalk, yes the big size chalk and the sidewalk!  It was wonderful and full of amazing color, right up my alley of beauty, and I was in heaven.  Since there are a few pictures I will not comment on them all and hope you enjoy the festival as much as me and my hubby did.

As we were walking up to the festival we came across this apple just sitting on the fence. I thought it was funny just sitting there and that no one knocked it off!  Do you know how many people must have walked by?    I just had to capture it because after all it could be considered art.

This is the size chalk that they were using and they were a sidewalk chalk for sure not sure how they could get so precise with this size but they did.  I just love all the colors and them sitting in there box waiting to be used.

I loved all the balloons that they hung what a great effect.

This one is wine pouring into a wine glass with a grape cluster.

It was neat to see the chalk being used in so many different ways.

I loved the way she is sitting and using her chalk so poised.

I would have never thought you could turn it into a watercolor base and use a brush.
Did you notice the sunburn this guy has? So funny.

Some of them had pictures that they brought to be used as a guide.

This was use with a brush after making the chalk into powder and adding water.  So amazing!

It must have been done by a guy don't you think?

This was the bucket of chalk the next guy, with the frog picture, had as his supply.  I think he has done this before.

So pretty to see them all together down the sidewalk.

Pretty stained glass.

I guess they were frustrated?

We thought this was just funny.

So beautiful with all the colors for shading on this horse! Wow  Well, I hope you enjoyed this festival as much as we did and maybe you might want to give this a try at home I just might.  Thanks for stopping buy you know I so enjoy our time together.

Fun! Wish I could have seen it in person, makes me want to go outside and use chalk!
