Micheal's Score

I had a return to do at Micheal's and since our AC stopped working about 5:00pm last night, I needed to get out of the house and into air conditioning!!!!!  They are coming out to look at it between 2pm-4pm today and not soon enough for me!! Whew, sweat dripping and a don't touch me attitude is not good so I hope they can fix it and not have to replace!!!! 

I was walking through the store getting some supplies I needed and I spotted the candles and stopped to give them a smell (I do this every time).  Then just around the corner of the displace wouldn't you know the candle lids I was admiring last fall were on clearance!!!  I don't mean just a little, I mean a GREAT SCORE price at just $.59!!!  That's 90% off!!!!

When looking at them not all of them were $.59 but a cranberry and taupe one were priced at that and I grabbed them so fast and started looking for a green one too.  Darn there wasn't a green one priced for $.59 but that didn't stop me from hopping. 

I thought, I will bring up a green one just in case it is $.59 and not labelled. I was soooo excited because these are my favorite colors in our living room and since our living room and kitchen is one big room they will work in the kitchen where I burn the candles.  Plus, the design is just up my filigree alley but there is more.

I came to a spot that all the bins were 40% off and fell in love with these. 

My daughter had mentioned she had got a vintage looking recipe box from a girlfriend and I have been on the lookout ever since.  So when I spotted these, yea so excited.  I picked two boxes that I liked the sayings on and the colors.  I am going to do a robin's egg blue in the kitchen so the blue one was perfect but of course I couldn't pass up the pink one.

I got a coffee mug because I am going to put candy in it to weight it down and set it on one of the coasters I got  and display on the kitchen counter when it gets done.  Cool huh.?

Since all the pink matching items were gone I focused on the blue one and was glad I found what I wanted.  These are the recipe cards and coasters.  I am not sure if I will use the recipe box or not but I didn't want to pass up on the cards.  I just love the retro ladies face and love that she is holding a coffee cup and you will see why in next photo.

I have this magnet on our fridge and have always loved it so when I saw the others it was love at first sight.  I can't wait until our kitchen is done so I can see them on display. 

Thanks for taking the time and letting me show you my finds and maybe if you like them too maybe you will have to take a run to Micheal's. Oh, I almost forgot about the green coaster, when I got up to pay for my items and since there wasn't a barcode on the green lids package she gave it to me for $.59!!!!  Happy Days :)

p.s. as I am finishing this post it is 3:19pm and no one has showed up to look at the AC and it is turning dark out side and is thundering, NO IT JUST STARTED TO POUR OUT!!!!
